**Updated** Following my review below AND an online support request, I received an email from “Scott” based on the review requesting my MAC address and two separate phone calls within five minutes of each other based on the online support request. As soon as I provided the MAC address, I got another email that I can log back in after five minutes and all should be good. I did and it was! I’m looking forward to seeing how this “new” app works compared with the legacy app that’s being retired. Kudos to Scott and the rest of the Winegard team for their outstanding support system! **Original Post** I can’t get my years old GW-1000 to work with this app. I registered it when I got it and it won’t let me get past the error. This app is useless to me.

Takes forever to connect. I can open my computer, log on before the phone app can connect. App took away the map on location service, just giving you lat/lon. Unit itself has a problem, which appears to be a buffer filling up. Restarting the unit usually clears it up. We are heavy data users, with truly unlimited data. Issue manifest itself no matter what point in the cycle. Finding it hard to recommend this unit or app

Went back to the old winegard app, connects from a complete reset almost immediately without issues. Factory reset and tried 6 times to complete the setup. Never worked. I believe there is an issue with password length or structure that HALO is looking for a specific PW length ( it says 8 characters ) but that’s asked when connecting to an external WI-FI source and that’s something that you wouldn’t have control over ( if it’s a park, hotel, hotspot, public Wi-Fi ) so there shouldn’t be a criteria embedded in the connection setup. You can’t get past this to work around it. The old app connects the GW-1000 to my cabin Wi-Fi, home Wi-Fi and a campground Wi-Fi without problems. Cant get HALO to connect with any and using HALO requires a complete setup - you cant have the Winegard working and just log into HALO and transition over - even though the HALO app says “easy transfer” it’s neither easy - nor a transfer. It should say “gather all your passwords and reset everything for an experience”
