I’ve been using this app for 2 or 3 years and like it. However, it does have its limitations. I wish it worked more like a cad or revit program but not as complicated. Wish list would be things like: more modern fixtures/decorations; more vibrant or true colors and little more realistic finishes (especially the wood grains); the ability to move whole rooms; the addition of sidewalks and true porches and a better interface to make sunken living rooms and porches with steps that meet the ground levels of houses. Also, some kind of way to design more than 3 projects instead of doing multiple levels to show alternate designs; way to export the drawings in more universal formats; and better exterior design snd finish options. All in all, though, I do like the program and have been able to design professional looking floor plans and interior design renderings. But these other options would be totally cool to have.

I’ve been using this app for almost two years now and while I find that it suits my personal needs to some degree, some functions have a steep learning curve that will cost money without you realizing it. The way the app works is that you pay for certain tools such as 3D photos and floor plans. There are preview modes but the resolution is so low and colors inaccurate that you can’t really tell if a drawing is correct. If you render the photo, however, it will cost you $1.98. If you find out that something’s not right, well, you’ve just wasted the money. My other criticism is the lack of ability to customize accessories and furniture. The library in this regard is somewhat limited. I’m giving it 3 stars because I’m a sucker for paying almost $200 for just one personal DIY kitchen remodel. With each version of my design costing money (something I learned the hard way by not reading the fine print), it’s been an expensive process.

It’s worth spending time to figure it out! I’m so sorry to see so many bad reviews. I discovered room sketcher years ago online and was so thrilled when I found out there was an app. I have had my house saved for a very long time, and refer to it whenever we start talking about rearranging furniture or renovating. It did take awhile to get the house measurements laid out correctly, and there was some trial and error. However this program is fabulous. With the help of satellite photos and measuring tapes, I’m able to easily visualize if we can fit in an RV gate, or a pond, or remodel the bathrooms, put in French doors, or buy a new sofa, or anything else that pops up over time. I recommend this to anyone I know moving into a new home, or making mock-ups to see how their furniture fits in a room. To the developer(s)- You have done an absolutely amazing job.
