Ride On Trip Planner

I always jokingly call myself geographically challenged. When I’m out with friends and need to use the metro system, I heavily rely on them, because I’m horrible with navigating. I get anxious when I need a GPS. I’m an extremely visual person, and this app has made it super easy to navigate the bus and metro system in MOCO! I recently had car troubles so I had to use the bus and metro to get to and from places. I will definitely be utilizing the public transportation system more even after my car issues are resolved because of how simple this app has made it for me to use it. I appreciate that it has features such as letting you know the estimated time you’ll reach each stop during your trip, and the option to turn on the buzzing alert when your next stop is near.

This app has huge potential and the interface is overall really good. However I have noticed on several occasions that the bus does not connect to the GPS real time tracking. Just now, a Route 12 bus went by that wasn’t tracked and so I missed it, thinking the next bus would be in 10 or more minutes. Auditing the buses to ensure that they are properly connected to the App’s real-time GPS system would be helpful. This is an ongoing issue. If I could trust the real time, it would make me choose to use Ride On buses more often.

When it is working properly, this app is helpful. It can suggest routes and give an estimate of when the next bus will arrive. I have occasionally had problems with phantom buses, that is that it says there is a bus coming but I never see it. Also it is limited in what routes it will suggest. There are times when I know that I can walk 2 blocks and probably get an earlier bus, but there is no way to check them in the app.
