PlasticScore Zero Waste Dining

Plastic Score is what I’ve been looking for for years! I want to support businesses that promote zero waste and use sustainable or compostable materials. I also want to be able to bring my own cup or use a reusable cup/utensils where possible. If this can somehow be linked to Google Maps or Yelp, people can see all the relevant info in one spot, kind of like the carbon emissions rating in Google Flights.

I’ve been using PlasticScore for a few weeks now and am so excited about the possibilities! Like Yelp for waste, it not only helps me find waste-conscious restaurants but also helps our community give valuable actionable feedback to restaurants. I find greenwashing is such an issue in the industry (and no fault of the restaurants). This app helps push back against it, and has the potential to change our disposable food packaging culture.

To make a difference with plastic pollution each of us must do our part. In an age of Coronavirus, some restaurants will manage their deliveries and take outs responsibly while others will not. This app gives us the tools needed to encourage the best practices and to have the buying public reward those restaurants that do right by the environment we all must share.
