However, while the navigation and design are user-friendly, the user experience is significantly hampered by the subscription model. Even saving the most basic collages requires a subscription, with no option to save for free, even with a watermark. The app's security measures prevent users from even attempting to screenshot their work, which feels unnecessarily restrictive. These limitations make it feel less like a free app and more like a paywall in disguise. To improve, the app could benefit from offering a free saving option for simpler projects, even if it includes a watermark. Such an approach would make it more accessible to casual users while maintaining its appeal for those needing advanced features. In a competitive space with free alternatives for basic collages, these changes could go a long way toward retaining a broader audience.

I hardly ever leave bad reviews, I make it a point to give people a chance to correct things before giving someone a bad review because I’m not okay with messing up people’s ratings when you could give them the chance to correct things first. However, when an app deliberately misguides people with the intention of gaining access to their data, I have absolutely no problem with immediately leaving a bad review. I’m giving one star because of how misleading this app is for the purpose of gaining access to people’s data. It’s free to download the app and then after you get started, the first thing the app does is ask for permission to access your photo library. After you give access, it asks for permission to track your web activity and then you choose what layout you want for your collage. After you pick what pictures you want you use in the collage, it then tells you that you have to subscribe to a subscription or you have the option to do a free trial, but not without having to put your credit/ debit card info in first. If you're going to require for people to pay a monthly subscription or start a free trial with their card info, then that should be the first thing you have people do instead of getting them to allow you access to their photo library and web activity first. Because of this, I feel that this app is one big scam. That should be illegal.

UPDATE: After searching for literally 4 months for another app as good as Pic Jointer USED TO BE, I had found nothing even close. So tonight I decided to re-download the app and try to learn how to use the new version. Upon re-installing, I found that it has been completely fixed since I left! Now, it could not be easier to use! I'm so thrilled that I can use this app again! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Wow! I cannot believe they really went and completely ruined my favorite app with this update! They've made the app completely unrecognizable from the greatness it was before. Everything is hard to do now. And most things that I want to do, can't even be done at all any more! What on earth were they thinking? I already uninstalled the app and will be looking for a different collage-making app today.
