Philips Home Access

Yes it works with Alexa, but not the easy way. After failing to connect Alexa to Home Access, I tried a bunch of ways and I figured out one that works… The most important part is that you have to create a log in with a password. Don’t use the Gmail or Apple links. Once you’ve verified that the lock is connected to the app, you delete the app. Then go to the Alexa app and search for the skill “Phillips Home access”. Click the link button, which then opens a browser window and asks you to log into Home Access. Enter the email and password you created and Alexa will start to connect itself. Once done, download the app and log in. Boom, done!

For some reason, if you connect to a Philips 4200 Series Smart Lock to your Wifi (a primary goal for my use case) via this App, you have the option of connecting to a Wifi with either no password or a password between like 8 and 12 characters. I don't get this second requirement. The App is connecting to the Wifi as a consumer and consumers don't get to dictate the password requirements of the service they are connecting to for use. I don't understand this at all and have submitted a ticket on the App. If customer services or app support doesn't respond with a fix by the time my return window expires (July 23), I will be returning this item and trying something else.

This app worked fine for a couple of houts. However, about two hours after I entered pins and fingerscans for the family, the app kept on freezing. I turned of my phone, deleted and downloaded the app and tried it on my wife's phone. The freezing just does not stop. The phillips lock works fine, but the app has been a real headache. The app locks and unlocks the door and connects to Alexa fine, but I cannot get the app to return to a previous screen. I need to exit the app and restart each time I need to return to a prior screen. Also, i added family names to each pin and fingerscan. Unfortunately, the names are now gone. Sadly, the app does not permit me to see the numbers for pins I created so I am left in the dark. I have no idea why an owner is unabke to see pins. I can delete but cannot view a pin. I have a different lock at a different home and i can view all pin numbers in an app that works flawlessly. I purchased the Phillips because the device as well as the app are highly rated. I am disappointed that the app that accompanies such a good device just freezes.
