Pearl: Meaningful Reminders

What I love most about this app is that I get to decide all the messages that pop up on my phone. I used other affirmation type apps before and didn’t always want to affirm the message that was sent, or it wasn’t relevant to me. Now whenever I see a quote or someone tells me something meaningful, I add it to the Pearl app and it makes it way back around to me so I don’t forget it. That’s so good for me! Thank youu 🫶🏼

I needed a widget exactly like this to deal with cptsd. I have a lot of goals and a bad and worsening, very very foggy memory as a symptom. Reminding myself of things I need to remember is really hard. Sometimes months will go by. And I can't deal with flowery language and cookie cutter positivity. I needed something customizable and on my desktop at all times REAL bad! This app fully gets the job done. However, besides the ability to use images, editing wididgets is limited and rigid. You can put images in using Photos if you make a folder to import them from your computer. But just selecting the folder itself directly from the computer would have been easier. The text can't be formatted. If you try to format it, the app will glitch. So the font doesn't match my other desktop widgets. I think I will eventually upgrade anyway. It works well enough and the user can tailor the app to their own usage. Thanks for not making me put flowers on my desktop!

My phone buzzes 100 times a day. Too often the notifications I get – whether they’re from work, the news, or social media – are just a distraction from the moment. When I get a notification from Pearl it reminds me to be *in* the moment. Some of my pearls are just about being present. Other pearls are about gratitude or social connection. But unlike other notifications, Pearl is showing me messages from myself. It helps me focus on the things that matter most. On top of that it’s just a beautiful app! Super easy to use and every bit of it feels just right.
