PCMC Smart Sarathi

PCMC Smart Sarathi needs serious fixes. The app is full of bugs, the grievance list keeps buffering, and complaints can’t be submitted reliably. Property tax payment from the app doesn’t work, and even the front page often fails to load. Until basic stability and core services are fixed, it doesn’t work as expected.

The Sarathi app, which is intended to empower citizens to report issues in their surroundings, is itself riddled with usability flaws. Ironically, while it’s meant to facilitate problem reporting, there seems to be no clear way to report issues with the app itself. Considering this app represents one of the richest municipal corporations in India, the current state of its design and performance is disappointing. It’s frustrating to see such a critical platform not meeting even basic user expectations — especially when the same corporation aims to build a smart city. That vision falls flat if the supporting digital infrastructure is not smart or reliable. I urge you to fix the existing flaws in the Sarathi app, make feedback/reporting mechanisms visible and functional, and improve the overall user experience. Smart cities begin with smart systems — and this app needs serious improvement to align with that goal.

Please allow people outside Maharashtra to look at the PCMC containment zone/corona test faciliy map too. A lot of people stuck outside Maharashtra would also want to access the PCMC map. The current version of the app uses the current user GPS location info and only allows you to see the map if you are in Maharashtra.
