I love this app and have been using it for years (and it’s been wonderful the entire time). There IS however a serious issue when you’re using the app in landscape mode: It wouldn’t let me scroll up and down a single page when it’s at 100% zoom. I could only see the middle of the page, and every time I tried to move it it would jump back to that spot, which is really annoying since the only reason I even use landscape is for when my music is too small to read in portrait mode. HOWEVER, none of the reasons I am writing should affect your decision to get the app, I just think the developers need to fix a few things and it would be so much better. 100% get the app if this is the kind of thing you’re looking for, it’s worth the money. (Fixed!! (User error)) However, for one of the more recent updates, it finally allowed you to input instruments (and other categories), but it doesn’t let you search things up the same way as it used to. I miss having “clarinet” in genre (since that was the only option at the time if you wanted to categorize your music) and being able to just type “clarinet” in to get music under that category. Now, theres a place to put the instrument but no way to look it up? It seems like a useless category if you have to go into music info to find it, instead of just being able to look everything up under that section. This isn’t app breaking or anything, and I will continue to happily use the app, it’s just really annoying to deal with since there is a very easy fix for it.
Paperless Music has revolutionized the way I lead my church band. I’m a pro audiovisual tech (8years) and part-time music director (6 years) and pairing this app with a Bluetooth page turner (the Coda STOMP, which is top notch) has made my communication better, my preparation more effective, and my rehearsals shorter. All for $5 once, and with the added ability to easily export the library with annotations. Importing charts from Planning Center is quick and easy as well. I highly recommend it. For reference, I’m using an iPad 7th gen, an OnStage iPad mount that attaches to a mic stand, Paperless Music, & the Coda STOMP hardwired to a VooDoo Lab ISO 5 power supply. The only bad news is that I have no excuse for messing up anymore...
Imagine my dismay when for some reason Paperless Music wasn't importing any documents from any source-AirDrop, Documents, etc... Yep, full blown panic! But there's a happy ending to this story. I've come to rely heavily on Paperless Music for jams, gigs, sharing, and just about anything to do using printed music, even other documents that I can't mark up using Adobe. So when I lost the ability to import new documents I immediately reached out to Paperless Music for help. Within an hour I had my first response from PM Support probing for more information to further define the problem. One more e-mail and a video confirmed the illness and a prescription that solved the problem was immediately sent and implemented. DONE! In this day and age it's darn right rare to get that level of service. I continue to be very satisfied with the program AND the support that I have received. If you're on the fence about whether to purchase Paperless Music let my experience convince you that this is the program for you. It certainly is for me. Thanks Paperless Music for a great program and stellar support! (PS: The failure I encountered was probably due to a problem caused by a file I imported. Archiving all my files, deleting the program and reinstalling it and importing the archived files gave me a fresh start. However, DON'T do this at home without first contacting Customer Support. As I said, they're fast and they definitely know more than I do.)
