When you see 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, you are more than likely walking into a situation where you will be sharing 1 bathroom with 4 people which is EXTREMELY hard and at times gross. It can take up to two hours to finally get into the bathroom. PADSPLIT must ask the hosts for TRANSPARENCY on the bathroom situation. Simply write in the description, 4 people will be sharing 1 bathroom and the 5th person who rents out the ensuite will get a private bathroom. You can not reach out to the host until you pay to ask this question and it takes about 2 weeks to get your money back if you decide not to move forward. Padsplit will not reach out to the host on your behalf for clarification. TVโs, mini fridge, full length mirror and work chair and work desk in a room will only be that more appealing to most people. We relax in our private space which is the bedroom. Sharing a bathroom with people , you must get ready in your room so you need a mirror.
Iโve been with PadSplit now for 2 years and my experience has been mostly positive. Iโm in Las Vegas and have been in 2 properties, both in great areas (one in Spring Valley and one in Beverly Green which is 3 blocks off The Strip). Rents are reasonable and the house hosts Iโve dealt with have been flexible and cooperative. Roommates are mature and respectful, have only had one incident where an absolute slob was renting a room, and even stole bathroom items after he was locked out (a lesson learned to just keep all your stuff locked in your quarters). Thatโs been the only blemish to an otherwise positive experiemce. I highly recommend PadSplit to anyone looking for temporary or transitional housing. If this service was available in NYC, Iโd probably move back east and use it. ๐๐พ
Like many others here have said, THIS IS ALL A GLORIFIED SCAM. And to be honest, itโs genius. These people charge you a $19 application fee and promise itโs refundable if your application is not approved. I applied for a room that was only $750 for one month, & paid for the $19 app fee. After paying, they denied my app and said โoh you canโt get the room because youโd need a $2500 down paymentโ?! WTH. Well since they denied my application and denied me the room (bc heck no Iโm not giving you $2500 when all I wanted was a one-month room for $750), I asked them for my $19 app fee back (which they said was refundable if rejected). But Lo and behold, customer service responded to me (not in a rush because it was a full 3 days later) that the $19 app fee is non-refundable. It LITERALLY says on the app that theyโll refund it but now theyโre saying itโs non-refundableโฆ. So as you can see, these people have found a clever way to collect $19 from everyone who downloads the app. Itโs possible youโll get no return from it & they donโt have to provide you with any real service. Get a million people to do this (go through the โmandatoryโ sign up process with a $19 app fee), & youโll have made $19 million. Well played I guess? Donโt believe the positive reviews - Iโll bet they paid for them or had their team write them to combat the negative onesโฆ
