Open Eyes: AI Face Editor

First I used the AI Generation to try to fix my daughter’s closed eyes in an important graduation photo, it looked cartoonishly ridiculous, even as a tiny thumbnail you could immediately see the eyes looked like someone had used a joke image editor. Then I used the Face Swap solution, which is semi-manual. You pick the other photo, and by hand translate and rotate each eye as an overlay, then the app does some ‘magic’ and you get a photo. I had taken other shots and so was able to get some eyes that worked with a little resizing and tilting. It looked okay. I tried to download the result, but the app then went into ‘magic’ mode, and messed it up, giving it a completely bizarre look. Waste of money. I guess they get by on everyone paying $5.99 and then canceling. Not a bad business.

This app lets me choose a photo with closed eyes, then choose another photo with Open Eyes. The app then allows me to rotate and fine-tune their position. At that point everything looks fantastic, then after pressing The “generate“ button, the eyes turn into something from the elephant man. I’ve tried with different photos and different effects (generate and swap). Am I doing something wrong? If I could skip the generate step by zooming out and taking a screenshot, everything would be perfect.

Great app. Works beautifully. Open eyes was amazing for a group photo with one person who blinked at the wrong time!
