Offline Translator Spanish Pro

I just bought the paid version of this offline Eng.- to- Spanish translator app. As we are planning to travel to Spain, I thought this would be very handy to have. It has a major flaw: it launches OK, but when I touch the mic icon to speak a phrase, the app brings up my photos instead and will not allow me to access the speaking function. This difficulty occurs with my iPad 2 as well as with my iPhone 6. I am running the latest up-to-date iOS system software versions on each. I have also tried turning off both my photos and camera options in the privacy settings, t see if that would help, but to no avail. When I touch the mic icon within the app, it always just launches my photos instead. This occurs on both the unpaid and paid versions. I have requested support from Apple and from the developer and have heard nothing back. Has anyone else experienced this problem? What can I do? Please fix. Thank you.

Very happy with this app. It gives me the power to speak to people in Spanish. I have many friends from Spain and I can now converse with them in their native tongue. This is not only an educational tool, but a conversation piece at a party/ Highly Recommend this app to anyone who wants to improve their knowledge of the cultures and languages spoken in Spain

Many features are accessible offline, which makes this very handy when traveling in foreign countries. Some translations are nonsensical, of course, and many menu items will not be translatable or "de-coded". I have the Spanish/English version
