So when I’m in the United States it works perfectly but trying to use it in Mexico was a nightmare when on WiFi it was telling my account doesn’t exist and so I used my moms phone to just unlock the car still on WiFi and it says car is unlocked but it was still locked the app sent a notification to my mom say car was unlocked but my uncle tried to open the car to grab something when I was going to get my keys after getting frustrated with the app it was locked and he set off the alarm mind you it’s still telling my mom the car is unlocked i take the keys to stop the alarm and unlock the car and it finally works once we left the reach of the hotels our WiFi my account is miraculously reinstated my account I’m sorry, but this is unacceptable when it comes to app designing like if I can’t use my app on Wi-Fi what is the point cause I’m not always gonna have access to data in half of the places I go in Mexico I don’t have service I realize with the design block, but it shouldn’t be fixed as soon as possible

I appreciate the app for what it is, and I’m not here to discuss how I feel about what Mazda provides for what it costs (or doesn’t cost, if you’re still in the free period like me). In general - for me - the app does what it’s supposed to and works about as often as any app or digital service does (read: nothing is perfect). It’s not an outlier in that regard, so it gets a 4. I would upgrade to a 5 if it had Siri Shortcut integration, and if the visual manual/help/“whatever-that-thing-is” was less confusing, more comprehensive, and if the Search Function pulled up more information. When I use that OM Search function, it’ll pull up search terms that are very related as I’m typing, but then when I select one to search, it’ll say No Results. So I’m not sure if those search terms are just what other people have tried, or it’s trying to pre-populate based on something else. Either way, I don’t end up getting the info I want and just use Reddit/the Interwebs anyway. Bonus points if it pulled and showed more data about the current state of my car, and allowed for more control over the state of various instruments and features when using Remote Start (like an option to turn on heated seats).

The app is fine for the basics that Mazda offers (when the app WORKS). Things I've notice that are lacking and don't work consistently are: 1) instructions from the manual are difficult to find (manual is very hard to navigate and not phone screen friendly, but a google search did me wonders a few times), 2) failure in refreshing your vehicle "status" (which is the whole point of the app??, lately have had to redownload the app or the refresh function is stuck for hours - currently unable to refresh my status from 4 hours ago now with multiple restarts and such), and 3) the app sometimes, flat out, won't log in, and again, I will close the app multiple times or redownload the app. :/ Also, app non-urgent "notifications", once in the app, are really counterintuitive, hard to get to and clear out. Annoying. When functioning, the app is great for starting my Mazda, locking, and alerting me of anything I missed, all remotely. But it's been very patchy to access the app and stay reliable for "status" from the get go. I do love being able to check in with my "car lock" and the alerts when I don't fully close a car door or the remote lock doesn't work.
