My Diary - Journal with Lock

I use this app EVERYDAY. ESSENTIAL TO MY LIFE. Plain and simple. I document my life and also use it for work, notes, etc. This app is the best outlet for me to express my thoughts and being able to lock it so that I can only see is a super plus. I have been diagnosed with a mental illness, along with Lupus etc. So this app also helps me track what days I am in pain, helps me remember what I was doing when said pain started to see if there’s a pattern or something. It also helps me track my mental health status. To document why I am a feeling the way I feel. I can write anything down and know that no one can see view it unless I want to. The Aesthetic of the app is also great! I pay for the premium so that I can choose background images/colors/fonts that suit my mood. I have downloaded the floret app which is another diary/journal/task apps. The journal section is in plain white so it’s not fun getting to choose a fun background when I’m in a good mood. But I will stick with this app for sure! Thank you to whoever created this! (Not to disrespect the Floret app. That is good too & they gave me a free membership. it’s great for simplistic tracking/tasking; but I’d use this for journaling. Plus there is no lock on that). I downloaded this app back in 2022 and immediately payed for the premium version. What a beautifully made app to write all your words in. You will always be inspired. And I always recommend it to others. I recently was writing a lengthy page, which isn’t unusual for me, but this time I included photos. Which I don’t usually do. Seven photos to be exact. Everything was fine but when I tried to add the seventh photo everything I wrote underneath it disappeared. As you can imagine I was shocked since that was basically three paragraphs gone. I was able to remedy this by deleting the seventh photo and voila, the three paragraphs came back. When I decided I wanted to change the sixth photo to something else I deleted it and tried to add a different picture but then the same problem popped up; now everything under the sixth photo vanished. I’m not sure if this app has a photo limit I wasn’t aware of before but I’m afraid to add any more photos or change any in case it happens again. Could the app developer please let me know?

I tried a few different apps at the beginning of the year. I wanted some ability to be a little more creative, but not so much that it takes me hours to figure out what on earth I'm doing. The only reason for four stars is because Apple's new Journal app is amazing for prompts because it gives pictures I've taken, places from Google maps and so much more as prompts and if there were way that this app could connect to those things too: IT WOULD BE PERFECT. Apple’s “Journal” app is it more interactive, but it looks cooler because it's got the actual things you did available effortlessly. BUT it's not available on iPad... so here I am copying, pasting, inserting & trying to remember as life goes by at the speed of light what I did all day. 👉🏻Another thing is I can’t seem to find (and I’ve clicked on everything) a way to change the color. The themes are limited; I would like to be able to add my own “wallpaper” if you will. 👉🏻You also can’t add an additional “mood” if your mood changes through the day. Or even just add the icon in the text. Sure, you can add emoji’s but I have chosen the “cat” mood because I am a premium member but I can’t even insert a new cat into the text of my journal should my mood change during the day & I want to record it. 👉🏻There is no landscape view either 👉🏻Agree with other reviewers that there should be 1) a way to use handwriting with the apple pen —seems pretty basic 2) a way to export entries/entire journal to a preferred cloud, drop box, file etc.

Okay… So this is my first ever time downloading a diary app and this app actually suprised me, because I downloaded atleast 4 apps ( including this one ) and I deleted them all. I loved this app because of the beautiful theme you can choose from and I believe that you need to upgrade to premium to get most of the theme and other featrues in this app. But the weird thing is, when I click on the premium membership, it says that it’s $0.00. I don’t know if this what’s showing just on my screen, but for me this doesn’t relaly bother me since I’m fine with the limited features this app offers me. I can wrtie my diary and it shows me the date and I can choose emojis to use to represent how I felt on that day. I can also use Korean and I believe multiple other languages as well. I also downloaded this diary because of a feature that this app offered me. It said that this diary had a lock! I wanted to check it out, so I clicked on a couple simple buttons and it let me choose from a pattern passcode ( the one Samsung has inorder to open the home page ), it let me create a nubmer passcode, which was up to 4 digits, and finally the fingerprint. I tested it out and it was fantastical. I chose the fingerprint, since I thought that that was going to be the most safest way to lock my diary. My iPad is an apple, model 10 one. The latest one if I believe so. I put my hand on top of the button where it scans my fingerprint and the lock worked perfectly. Now I don’t need to worry about any of my friends or familys finding out about my darkest secrets and inner feelings. Hehe

This app is super cute! It’s easy not to get overwhelmed with its features, but one thing it does lack is proper formatting. It would be cool if we could wrap text around personal images, or customize how the image is displayed by clicking and dragging it like a sticker. I wanted to put two images that were related to each other together on the same line, and couldn’t. It also would be nice if we could use different text alignments for different parts of an entry. I also have to [b]re-bold[/b] my text a lot, since saving it sometimes gets rid of that formatting. Formatting is a little clunky and the app doesn’t always do what you tell it, but since it’s appeal is simplicity, it’s understandable. The stickers are probably my favorite part! They’re super cute, and you can put them on top of images. It also comes with a lock, which is great, cause I’m writing some really cheesy stuff I would be mortified about someone who knows me seeing. The custom emojis in the app are also really cute. I like to use the stars as bullet points. One last suggestion to add is page dividers/page breaks. So far I just input a line of “—————“ when I wanna break up text. Really just adding an option for users to input custom HTML or some sort of forum formatting like BBCode could add lots to this app.
