Credit card handling is poor

For the most part the app works fine but when recharging, I prefer not to auto recharge because I don’t always have the money on the day. So I manually recharge but each time I have to key in my card details manually. The scan card function doesn’t work at all. I’ve tried a few different cards with different layouts, all in differing light conditions and it’s never worked once. The green box shows to indicate it’s aligned but nothing else happens. So I figure I’ll have to enter it manually once and just turn in the “Remember my card for future use” option. Except it doesn’t do anything. I have multiple phones in the family in my account and tried to recharge two of them in one session and it couldn’t even remember my card from one to the next. And sadly, I keep trying the scan and remember functions every time, on the off chance that they might work one day. But I’ve been doing this for over a year and it’s still not fixed.

Data Bar Problem

For everyone who is complaining about the data bar not showing progress, I have a solution. When your in the app and on the Home Screen you need to turn off your wifi and enable your mobile data (if you haven’t already) and the bar should reload and show up. Once your done looking or whatever just turn your wifi back on and exit the app. This seemed to work just fine for me but it is a bit annoying when I’m at home and I want to check my balance and I have to turn off my wifi just to check it. But overall the app is fine if your just using it to check your usage and days, but for anything other than that the app falls behind. Overall the UI is nice but you need to fix a lot of things and make the app more in-app friendly, as a lot of buttons just take you to their website instead of it happening inside the app.

Not That Bad

Other reviews are incredibly exaggerated on the negatives of this app. Sure, it’s not perfect, but it works just fine. Most of the complaints seem to be directed to the telstra login and boost ID. If all you want to do is check your data usage and recharge then you don’t need to worry about either. When you first open the app it will prompt you to log into a telstra account. Just close out of that and your data usage and days left will be displayed. If you choose to recharge in the app it will open a browser in-app, but that’s hardly a reason for a 1 star review. If you want to make automatic payments and didn’t choose to do so during activation, you will have to use the website and possibly create a boost ID, i’m not sure. Either way I feel the main point of the app for most people will just be to check on their data usage and how many days left until recharge, and it does that just fine. It would be nice to have a widget I can add to the home screen, that would be my only request. All the issues that the people leaving enraged reviews have, all come down to user error. Just my two cents.
