MusicBuddy Pro: Vinyls & CDs

There aren’t many apps I recommend & both the book & music apps make that shortlist. I find myself here for the review after seeking the link to send to a music loving friend. They’re keepers - not destined for deletion anytime soon! I suppose I should mention I appreciate how it lets me catalog physical books, Apple & Kindle ebooks, and audiobooks in one place in a way I know where they reside in a glance. Moreover, it provides for a wishlist, loan list, & previously owned. I’m sure I’m omitting other useful features as I’m writing what comes to mind. I suppose it would be nice to have the apps BEFORE amassing an unwieldy media collection. That said, the apps make adding titles about as easy can be imagined… unless it might be possible to lay a half dozen books out barcode side up & find multiple titles at once… My final word? I’d buy them again without hesitation.

I have been waiting for an app like this for decades. Literally. An amazing database that actually works. Very stable. Allows you to import and export. Recognizes an incredible amount of music and artists. It's easily customizable to fit your specific needs in the data you want to know and access. Bravo. The one thing they could do to break it would be to move the databases online and charge a monthly fee. But that would make them into just another crappy scam app. So, please don't. It will ruin everything. I like my information kept local where I can control it. As tempting as it might be, it's a terrible way to do business. No matter how hip it seems to make you look.

I use this tool ALL the time. There are many features that I am still discovering. Reasons to get this app: 1) Support is EXCELLENT !! I had a question last night, and i got a clear (and helpful) response this morning. 2) Searching by song. When you load a CD or vinyl into your MusicBuddy library, most of them include a track list. You can search your library by a specific song name. So (for example) you can easily find all versions of “Limehouse Blues”. 3) Searching by artist. If you have a compilation album (e.g.”Various Artists”), and the track list contains the artist name along with the song (most do), then you can find all songs by an artist, even if it’s on a compilation. 4) You have immense flexibility with your loaded entries. If you can’t find the record online (a rare event), you can add it. You can add or edit tracks. If the online entry doesn’t have the cover, you can add a picture. 5) Simple backup procedures, which also allow you to view your catalog with a desktop computer. Summary: for me, an indispensable app !!!
