With the recent update the ads have become too much. They pop up too often and there is no escape before they complete. This used to be a game I could let my five year old play. Challenging without being to violent, with no killing or obvious bad guys. That is still true. But the ads kill it. They are dull and uninteresting, and I’m not giving it to my five year old when a video ad rolls every second or third play. I here is a purchase to turn off the ads, but it costs $ 1.99. I love this little game, but it isn’t worth $2 just to turn the ads off. Give us the open to turn off the ads, and just make it a buck. I imagine I’m worth far less then a dollar from advertising, especially since I will soon delete the app if there is no way to turn them off, or if the option to turn them off costs more then a dollar. It this will be just another casual play game that I end up deleting.
Man vs Missiles incorporated a lot of app features that make it fun and addicting, with an active dev team that responds to comments and listens to suggestions. The app is fluid, the physics are well-designed, and the controls feel natural. However, I feel that there could be a few improvements to the game. After a few hours, the game gets repetitive. Go in circles or serpentines until the next missile comes, and have them collide. Rinse and repeat. I think that you can try having a hard mode where more missiles come at once. Also, the flare button is hard to reach and blocks the screen. The icons for power ups and coins are also blocked by the time and coin counters in the top of the screen. Finally, the coins that you can collect don't seem to do too much, since you gain a substantial passive bonus for just living. Other than these changes, this game has an infinite capacity to expand. What about a pvp where two players duel with missiles?
I’m loving this game! Great work! There are 3 items / suggestions that I have. 1) Allow someone to go back to the main screen (or previous screen) from the objectives screen. There have been numerous times when I click on the “Play” button, see the objectives, realize I need flares (and know I don’t have any), and then have to start the game and die in order to go purchase them. It’d be great if you could at least back out of this screen, or have an option to get flares. 2) Occlusion of indicator arrows at bottom of screen by Flare button. I don’t know if this is by design, but the flare button occludes coin/power up/missile indicator arrows that are in the Southern direction. While this isn’t a huge deal (if you don’t see an arrow, it’s a pretty good bet it’s South of you), it’d be nice if you guys had an elegant solution since the purpose of these arrows seems to be to let you know where to go at all times to get these items. 3) Lack of missile warning indicator arrows (red ones). I’m not sure if this is by design, but I’ve noticed that there are times when a missile will enter the screen with little to no warning (i.e. no red arrow). While this can make things more challenging, I didn’t know if this was truly the intention. It’d be nice to have at least some warning so one could attempt to avoid them (some spawn directly in front and immediately fly into your wind screen, for instance). It just seems inconsistent that some missiles give you warnings and some don’t and I didn’t know if this was a by-product or some spawning further outside of the play area than others. Anyways, thanks for the great game and keep up the great work!
