MaintainX - CMMS & EAM

I’ve been at my company for about 2 years. For over 35 years they used paper work orders. I pitched the idea to my boss about going digital. He said to make it worth the time and cost and we’ll go digital. I searched for several different apps. This one stood out. It provided a free trial and a free plan for us to use. I dove in and downloaded the app and started creating my own work orders and assets. It was painless to learn and intuitive as what any company of any size would want. Procedures, attachments of manuals, documentation, reporting of efficiencies, downtime tracking, vendor linking, it’s all there. We’ve recently switched to the premium plan and have had nothing but great results. We spend less time writing and storing paper and more time being productive, along with attaching pictures to our work orders for references and documentation. If you’re looking for a great solution to your maintenance logging and documentation needs. This is it! I forgot to include the ability to add ppl as requesters for work that needs to be done and a built in messaging system and tagging. I love it and the team at MaintainX is helpful and really know what they’re doing.

I own a small hydraulic cylinder repair shop. We use MaintainX for work orders and basic customer CRM to track sales contacts. Overall it does a very good job. With a few changes, it would be great. The program needs a customer database. It has a vendor area, but vendors are not always my customers. I had to rename and customize the Locations area to serve as a customer database. The Inventory area needs to EASILY report on inventory usage. No multiple exports to Excel to figure out what inventory items are moving, and what is not. This is big. A basic CRM area to track sales contacts and customer repair history. Right now, for sales contacts, I created a customer called Sales Lead. When I receive a call or email, I open a work order for Sales Lead with the appropriate information. I can’t do anything for customer repair history. I want all the information in one spot. From the iOS app, I want access to all program features as if I was on my desktop. For example, I can’t edit the Work Order template from my iPad. The service is responsive and technical support responds promptly. They offer chat and screen sharing support. Overall, I am happy with MaintainX, but I am anxious to see what their software update and new feature release schedule is like.

After your first work order you will see how useful this app is. The options seem to be endless. The folks at MaintainX are awesome to deal with and really helpful. I foresee a great working partnership with them for a long time to come. February 2020: Have had much more time working with Maintainx and at this point we would literally be lost with out this app. I’m a maintenance manager for a very large chemical company with a crew of 3. This app is so much more than “work order” app I think most people understand what a work order is. Yes it does that and does it well in 4 months we have over 1100 work orders entered and i be never felt more in control of all this work. But something that you may not be considering is the help this can give you in other areas. If you are dealing with regulatory type tasks you can setup daily, weekly, monthly and yearly work orders to help that stuff not get missed. You can setup repeating for tasks like preventive maintenance. Your imagination is your life limit here. Loving this app!
