My partner and I came across lucky trip a while ago and thought it was strange how an app could create such beautiful trips for such little money that also worked around you so well! But it’s definitely true, we had an incredible 3 night stay in Budapest for £150 each excluding extra luggage and transfers which only totalled at about an extra £40… the lodge we stayed in was perfect and central to the town so all the recommendations of things to do on the app were also true and within price range! It is such an easy app to use due to the layout and the follow up after bookings keeps your mind at rest. I love that it automatically checks you in to save stress at the airport and we will 100% be booking another trip with Lucky Trip! Love it.
I haven’t bought anything! Just to make that clear so I cannot vouch for the authenticity of the site, however, the deals are incredible, you can swipe through hotel choices and see the price change immediately so you can always check budget, they tell you what you can do in the city and all of the quirky perks of each place, price points, activities, they’re realistic about advertising, for example they will tell you if a city is cheap but not generically pretty but they’ll point out the brutalist architecture in the area worth seeing, an incredible sight that makes travelling easy and exiting :)
I read the story behind this app and that’s what made me download it. Plus the fact that I’m ALWAYS trying to plan secret and surprise trips away for me and my other half. I love the concept and I’ve played around with dates, trips etc and when it comes to the time I need unique support this is where I’d come. A couple of things I noticed were the inability to select dates in September which is a shame as that will be my next surprise trip away with him. I also noticed that the app does not cover trips in the UK as well as it does Europe, giving flights instead of trains or just letting you know how far it is by car. I feel there’s so much in this country we’ve not made the most of and I’m forever trying to sneak a night or two away somewhere within a couple of hours travel but to do something totally different, even if it’s just a wacky pub with beer pong or a cosy yurt somewhere with homemade biscuits and wine in the middle of a field. Food for thought! Overall I’ll be keeping the app, using it for suggestions when the time comes and I’m looking forward to seeing any enhancements!
