The beginning setup is super easy and guided was able to do it in little chunks through my morning so I didn’t get overwhelmed and quit. The language used is very affirming and helped me feel safe to engage from a vulnerable place of trying something new that I’m not sure will be right for me but there were enough green flags that I wanted to try it because of how much it was resonating. It spoke about things that I could see I’ve been struggling with in my life and what especially drew me in is I had a very intense conflict with my partner that was weighing very heavy on my soul and I had been trying to figure out how to heal the parts of me I felt caused it or at-least let it escalate to a place I did not want it to go. I’ve done a lot of therapy and didn’t really understand what cbt was but after mentioning it to my partner who is well versed in it I think it’s exactly something I’ve been missing in my own therapy or at-least a solid next step for my healing journey ❤️
At first, I was convinced that the makers of this app were out of touch with the research they had done. I thought maybe they didn’t understand that people with adhd do not respond well to walls of single spaced type. Innocent enough. But when I requested my money back, they only gave me 50%. What I have come to realize is that they are leveraging the fact that people with adhd won’t read their eighty page financial details. This way when they present an app that is unusable, we’ll ask for our money back and they get to keep a minimum of 10 per unsuspecting user. It’s intentionally predatory. I have asked for Apples support to remove this app from the App Store. Don’t download it. Orig review: This app contains a ton of information. But it’s presented in a typical elearning format. It’s all text and memorization. It’s like taking a college course on adhd. Which is great if you don’t have adhd. It would even be great if it was taught in an entertaining manner. It’s not. It is plain text ALOT OF plain text that you could read much easier on the web. They have failed to capitalize on the way adhd works and instead just pile on too much info that I could even read without falling asleep or getting sidetracked. They may have had the best of intentions but they have totally missed their audience. It’s like they k ow all this stuff but fail to apply that knowledge to their own app.
The Liven app has a great premise, but the app is not ready for prime time. You receive ads for up-sells before you get access to the real content. For $29 per month, the up-sells should be included. You complete questionnaires which are supposed to personalize the app to your needs. It does not. Then, you are told to set goals from 5 or so categories, but there are few options in each category to choose from. If none of the options apply to your situation, you still must select one to proceed. There is no option to personalize. I thought I must be missing something, but there was no way to find out unless I selected answers that did not fit my situation. I reached out to their customer support, and a week later, reached out again to see if they received my first inquiry. I received a response asking if I would rather receive a few of their up-sells than a refund. I responded that I wanted a refund. I did receive notice of a refund. I hope this app developer can program a lot more personalization into this app (and slow down on the up-sell advertisements). I had been willing to pay a premium for what they promised. I wish this app developer well as they continue to make improvements to their app!
