Linux Academy

I’m not sure why LA doesn’t invest any time to fix bugs, probably because they intend to fully merge with Cloud Guru and eventually use their app. 1. Search doesn’t work well. Filters don’t work as well. 2. Total Time for the course and time remaining aren’t accurate. 3. Cannot remove completed courses from the dashboard 4. I just completed many sections of a course and after a while completed sections were reset to not-completed.

The content is okay, but this is certainly NOT a mobile/user friendly application. The user experience is one of the worst I’ve seen used. It takes a while to load. I tried the ‘experimental’ video player, and although there is a setting to go back to the legacy version it doesn’t save the option. I took the exams and it gave me a 0% when I got most of the questions correct (and you can’t go back and review your answers after you leave). I play videos on 1.25 speed time you click ‘next video’ it defaults to 1 speed, but if you click it once it jumps to 1.5 speed so you have to cycle through them all. The content isn’t bad, but PLEASE make this application user friendly.

I am a big fan of Linux academy and all the awesome content the team makes. This app however is very buggy. It regularly crashes as I try to download content for offline viewing, as I stream the apps UI will lock up and I have to close the app and reopen to pause and replay/switch videos. The app regularly will not load all the content in a course, there are just white spots where there should be video links, I really hope this app improves but if it does not I recommend continuing to use Linux Academy through a browser.
