The app is easy to setup & user friendly. No issues navigating through the options. Definitely a great idea and is a comfort knowing you’ll be able to find alternative cost effective charging points without relying on exorbitantly charged points.
Refreshing to see an app that doesn’t rip off hosts or charge crazy fees. Signed up with no problem and I could see chargers straight away. Some reviews said you HAVE to enter loads of details before seeing the map – not true! Free 90 day trial is a nice bonus as well.
Used the app for a trip to a an event in bucks 170 miles each way from the West Country & plotted a route so I could charge en route , this allowed me to both save money over the cost of public charging & to meet some lovely EV people , I would highly recommend it now having used it 3 times . I would advise planning at least 24 hours in advance so the hosts have time to respond & I’d say it’s better to message the host first before booking a session & give them time to respond before making a tentative booking . The messaging system is really helpful , it would be also good if there was a way of filtering hosts by cost as there is some variance when I searched but the ones I used were reasonable & cheaper than public charging & very flexible as hypermiling cross country my eta was a little out of sync with actual arrival but it all worked out well & I saw some lovely countryside near Bath & oxford that I may have missed if I stuck to motorways The ability to give feedback both ways is also really good so if you’ve used such apps as u ber or air b & b you’ll know it works well both ways if you’re able to give & receive feedback a bit like trip advisor There are other apps out there offering a similar opportunity to rent people’s home chargers but I haven’t tried those yet but I hope to so I can update a comparison review too later I look forward to using the joosup service again
