RideYellow - Your taxi app

Never again! I booked my ride to the airport for the next day, but I needed to confirm the pick-up time. The app lets you enter the pick-up time, but once booked it only shows the date, not the specific time. I tried to get in touch with them to confirm, but there is no Help option in the app. I ended up having to search for their website through a browser on my phone. The help page required me to sift through their FAQ, where I finally found a Submit a Request button at the bottom. Unfortunately, they don’t have a simple phone number to call. I had to send my message as text through some third-party system they use, and I never heard back. They had my phone number and email address, but I never received a response. I couldn’t confirm the time I had scheduled my cab for, and the next day, my car didn’t show up – and they make it impossible to contact them directly when something goes wrong. I had to cancel my ride and order a Lyft, which made me late for my flight. Thanks, RideYellow. I won’t be using you ever again and I certainly won’t be recommending your service to anyone.

I needed to schedule a ride for another person that I wanted to pay for. The app allows me to enter my credit card info, enter all the info about the ride (the date/time, the passenger name, phone #, pick-up/drop off locations), but then it will not allow me to pay and schedule the ride. It says there was an “error” and to “try again”. I tried multiple times and I cannot pay via the app. I spoke with a few different employees, including a dispatcher, who were all professional and polite, but they could not help me resolve the issue. I even deleted the app and re-downloaded it, which was suggested to me by their employee on the phone, but this did not work either. As a side note, I cannot schedule a ride via phone call, if I want to pay for it, bc the company does not accept payment over the phone. There are too many other driving services with excellent and easy-to-use apps. Even though the ppl I spoke to were nice and willing to help me, it sort of doesn’t matter if you cannot use the service in the end. Disappointed.

I have used Yellow Cab many times in the past and have either been satisfied or the service has exceeded my expectations. I have recently started to use the app. I ALWAYS have to follow up with a phone call (luckily I have their phone number). The app provides a summary of the ride which includes a field for driver notes. NOWHERE in the app is there a place for the user to input driver notes. When using the back button on the app, all the information you just entered disappears, and I need to call the dispatcher in order to ensure I am not being double charged. Recommendation: update app -The current app presents Yellow Cab in a very unfavorable manner.
