I’ve used this app consistently for a year, and I can say that I enjoy it much more than some of the other similar apps (like some other reviews noted, those tend to be more Hallmark-y). I like the simplicity, the reminders to turn my focus back to my center, etc. However, now that I’ve used it for a year, I’ve realized that the daily quotes and accompanying images repeat on a cycle. I know this for certain, as I had saved a good number of them on the first pass, and now when I open my daily quote, it’s often already saved. In addition, I had taken screencaps of some quotes to share with others, so I can see that the same quote is displayed on the same day this year. With all the Zen and Transcendentalist writing out there, I suppose I’d have expected the cycle to at least last more than a year!
I love Chill. Even on days when I say to myself, “I don’t have time to meditate,” The little reminders pop up throughout the day to remind me to pause and breathe. My only complaint is that the reminders that pop up through the day can’t be pulled up by opening the app. When a reminder comes in, my screen is usually locked. But when I open the screen it’s gone and I can’t find it anywhere. Every once in a while if I swipe right they’ll be there along with all the other daily notifications, but that’s rare. Chill, if you’re reading this, please add a feature that allows people to pull up all the mindfulness reminders that come in during that day from the app. Then it would be perfect!
The way that I came across this app was very random, I dont even know the person that I had saw talking about this app, but even tho it was so random the app caught my attention like if it was a sign, and I immediately went to the App Store to download it, my mind has always been racing due to my ADHD and OCD, but for the past few years I have been feeling a lot of anxiety and depression for unresolved grief in my life, the people that i used to go to when I felt that way are no longer here on earth and those moments I feel like I’m alone are tough to get thru, the Chill app has helped me so much, I can’t even express what it has done for me, and those daily reminders I get thru out the day are so perfectly timed and perfectly worded it’s almost as if Chill is reading my mind. Right now, literally a few minutes ago I got a reminder that my mind needs to stop criticizing myself, and it was so perfectly timed that i had to write this review. Thank you for making this app, it has helped me a lot, respect and loyalty are very important to me, I don’t have much right now but when I get money I will repay the creators of this app cuz of the loyalty that I have for the creators of Chill. Everybody needs to download this app, especially if you’re dealing with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, depression, but even if you’re not, this app will still improve your daily life and will help you live in the present and will literally help you “Chill” when you need to. I can’t call the people that I love cuz they have all died, but thankfully when all I need is someone to just tell me “it’s okay, just chill bro” I have this app there to tell me thru out the day. So thanks again and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, you guys have earned my respect, love, and loyalty, I hope God blesses you. You have helped at least 1 person with this app, so thank you for that! :)
