Lately, my experience with Jinjiang has been increasingly disappointing. As a platform that originally grew with the support of a predominantly female readership, its current approach to content moderation feels hard to understand. Common, everyday expressions—especially those related to women’s experiences or emotions—are being removed under vague justifications like “inappropriate wording,” and even normal discussions in comments or forums are frequently deleted. What’s more frustrating is that users who express reasonable, good-faith perspectives—particularly those supporting women’s viewpoints—are more likely to face restrictions or bans. Meanwhile, the reporting system seems easy to exploit, allowing coordinated or bad-faith reports to silence legitimate voices. At the same time, openly hostile or abusive comments don’t appear to be handled with the same level of scrutiny. This kind of inconsistent and opaque moderation makes it difficult to engage with the community, and it undermines the healthy interaction that should exist between readers and writers. I hope the platform can establish clearer standards and enforce them more fairly, instead of penalizing normal expression.

It’s increasingly frustrating to see how easily content can be locked or removed without clear, transparent justification. The platform’s escalating moderation standards feel inconsistent and, at times, arbitrary. What’s more concerning is how reporting mechanisms can be exploited—malicious or coordinated reports seem to carry disproportionate weight, while genuine context is overlooked. At the same time, anonymous comment sections have become a space where hostility goes unchecked, with users freely attacking and insulting not only specific works but entire genres and their authors. This kind of environment discourages creativity and undermines both writers and readers who engage in good faith. A healthier system would require clearer standards, fairer review processes, and stronger accountability for abusive behavior.

It is nice to be able to listen to the books and save my eyes. The reading sounds human enough. There are some bugs that need improvement though. Some characters with multiple pronunciation would handle the incorrectly. And some times it would even jump to different book.
