BattleText - Chat Battles

This game is great apart from the fact that it gives a very unfair advantage to the player who goes first, as other players noted years ago. The developers said years ago they added a bonus round to fix this issue but there are no bonus rounds as far as I can tell. I have been first in every single multiplayer round I’ve ever played and it feels unfair and hardly competitive, as it’s very easy to be the first one to 50 when I effectively get one turn more than the player who goes second. Also, my fiancé and I do not have a Facebook. It frustrating that signing in with Facebook is the only way to play with friends as we had to make accounts specifically for this app. And to top it off, the invitation feature doesn’t even work. There is no way to accept a game invitation so after all that, we’re not even able to play together. Additionally, I paid for to remove ads. The app said my purchase was successful then crashed and it still shows me ads.

I love this game a lot because it helps your vocabulary grow in a fun way but what I don’t like about the game so far is that when I try to use some words like say the chosen letter is ‘y’ I tried to write youthfulness but it wouldn’t allow me for some reason, the occurred with other words as well. Another thing to improve on is to add more challenges in the multiplayer section, there’s only three so far. I would love to see more challenge updates in the future when a new update occurs. Overall this app is very well made and fun!

TL;DR: Very good game, but also very unfair advantage given to the player who goes first. I absolutely LOVE this game, and I’ve only played it for a few days since my friend introduced me to it. Finally I feel that my English class has some sort of purpose. 😂 What is keeping this game from 5 stars you may ask? Well, in the short time period I’ve played this game, I’ve noticed a MAJOR ISSUE. There is a very unfair advantage given to the player who goes first. Let’s say that we’re playing to 50. Player 1 goes first, makes words that are 10 points per turn. Player 2 is second, and makes words that are 12 points per turn. After 4 words each, the score would be 48-40 in Player 2’s favor. However, Player 1 can barely edge them on the 5th word and win 50-48. This happens a lot more than you may think, and it unfairly rewards players just for going first, even if their words haven’t been as good. Devs, PLEASE fix this. If Player 1 hits 50 points, let Player 2 have a chance to tie or win the game, or even introduce sudden death. This game has a ton of potential, and I think this would be a ver nice change!
