This app is a great resource to receive updates on your USCIS case more quickly rather than waiting for them through mail. It’s clear and user friendly, allowing you to add your legal cases easily. However, it does feel a little ridiculous to see a big Solitaire/Mahjong game advertisement above the very nerve-wrecking legal case you’re waiting to be approved. There’s also a Premium subscription option that offers more details (e.g. estimated approval time). However, the estimated time stated is so vast that you’re better off just checking for updates on the news. Personally, it was not worth the money and I regret paying for it. You’d think there’d be room in that $64 billion budget to subsidize for apps like these. Especially, considering CA DMV developed one and it’s all completely free. But, hey! What the hell do I know! With all that said, I understand this app was built by a third party developer and are not directly associated with USCIS. I truly do appreciate their efforts to provide more readily available updates! I also understand they have to find ways to make profit in order to maintain the app. Filing these cases is already mentally and financially exhausting. So the excessive ads and restricted access without a monthly subscription just adds on to the painstaking process of the US immigration system one must go through in order to “do it the right way.”
I’m using this app for the last 3 years. It is helpfull especially if you have complicated immigration case and there are multiple filings. It’s not that all does anything particularly complex, it’s just pulls the data from the official USCIS case tracking website. But it’s easy to track all your case numbers in one spot, rather dig through your immigration documents folder to find the case number, then find the USCIS webpage and type it in. It’s also notifying you of the case updates automatically. The amount of adds in the app went up in the last two years, there is a paid version without adds, but I never felt the need to actually go beyond the free options. If devs are reading this, I would suggest to add an option that limits the notifications only to the actual case updates, otherwise the app notifies you of visa bulletins, version updates etc quite decentetising you to these notices. I ended up finding that my case was approved a week after the notification since I assumed it was another visa bulletin update and did not check.
Very useful and I prefer it over some other options as it allow me to go directly to the USCIS website easily. It also doesn’t try to sell me legal advice every 5 seconds which is great. And the congrats confetti when different cases are approved is a nice touch. USCIS of course as a federal agency is awful and the waiting times for processing are inhumane and costs are crazy because it’s not federally supported but apps like this make it easier to check for updates. So thank you. Small change suggestion: Sometimes when I open it the sort order for my cases changes from how I left it so I get momentarily excited to see a green edge but then realize it’s not the one I’m waiting for to be approved and it swaps back to the other sort order with the unapproved one on top.
