I've used Vima for going on 3 years and I love it! It tells me how fast I'm going, how far I've ridden, how many calories I'm burning, and how long I've been riding. These are my favorite things I focus on. It also shows a map of the path you ride with the highs and lows of the path. More options available for wherever a different person wants to focus on his/her ride!
This app is perfect because it’s simple to use. Push Start at the beginning of your ride and Record at the end. That’s it. It tracks your time and your mileage and your pace/speed and shows your ride on a pretty decent map. That’s all I need. If you want to keep track of your cadence or heart rate or favorite rides there’s other apps for that.
I like this app a lot for its simplicity and ease of use. I like it enough in fact that I subscribed to it for the year. Up until now I have been tracking my rides with MotionX GPS (which has a very difficult interface). There are also some drawbacks to the clean interface. There's no real "deep dive" to be able to get some statistics other apps offer easy access to. You can't even look at the limited graphs in portrait mode. It's nice that this app is well maintained but there are some weird behaviors with regard to suddenly and inexplicably loosing its place and drawing a straight line of 0 miles over parts of the ride. I think these bugs are a result of the app just being too judgmental and micro-managey. The problem is that if it's trying to prevent "cheating " then it fails because I've hopped in the car having forgotten to turn it off and I has no clue. This is all with the "auto detect stops" or whatever it's called setting OFF too.
