Angry Birds Transformers

I played through the campaign on an old iPad my school had, and I was completely hooked, even though I knew nothing about the transformer lore, I just played whoever the mission required, and I would blast all of them with skill, I think it’s the best game that ROVIO ever managed to make, but the only thing I wished would happen to the game later on is make a longer campaign and let you play as all the characters, by making new worlds that sure would not make sense because the angry birds universe is only set on pig island, but I think if the eggs can make mostly any thing tech why not make entirely new islands and put more of the cast on those new islands, and it would be good to point out, that yes I did read the comics that were based around the game, but I think they should do that in game, and try telling most of the story, while also being a wicked shooter, I hope ROVIO gets this cause I played all there angry birds games from the first to epic,go,seasons,Rio,Star Wars, and even the breakfast ones, they made my childhood as fun as possible and I think they should put more content into the games we highly value for these games are the best.

I love how it incorporates multiple Transformers shows like, Transformers Prime and Transformers Rescue Bots. The game itself is great although I can be a bit frustrating if you’re a child, as there are a lot of points that stop you from playing due to the fact that you must wait either for a transformer to upgrade or recuperate, or for a level to recharge. You can (of course) pay crystals (which can be purchased using real money) to bypass this, however that usually isn’t ideal for whoever must purchase the in-game money. The advertisements are also quite annoying, as they seem to come before every level and for some reason pause the game once completed. These issues interrupt the natural flow of play which, for adults, is only a minor inconvenience especially as they most likely have something they need to do soon anyway and are just playing for a short amount of time. But for children however, these problems (mainly the wait time) could end up ceasing their play entirely. I feel it safe to assume that children will then in turn, ask their parents if they may purchase more in-game currency, which may become annoying. Other then that, the game, overall, is enjoyable and great for adults, who’ve watched the original, and for children, who’ve watched the more child oriented shows like Rescue Bots.

I was initially worried that this game would be Angry Birds wrapped in a 2016 era Transformers skin. I was totally wrong. First of all, this game embraces Transformers in its best state, G1. You get that feeling from the moment you fire the game up. They put an amazing DiCola Soundtrack on here, and it feels perfectly at home. The combination of TF and AB was something that I didn’t know I needed, till I got it. I enjoy AB just like 99% of the world does, but I am a HUGE TF fan, as I grew up with it and never stop loving it during the early to mid 90s when it disappeared. The game itself is very intuitive and easy to jump right in. You barely need a Tutorial for the basic gameplay. That simplicity really makes the core gameplay shine. It’s Run and Gun, but you’re making AB like decisions as you go. Like, do I Attack a Pig directly, or do I try to take out that piece of wood? Then you have times where the TF aspect kicks in and you’re trying to Transform, Dodge a falling pillar, then resume your Attack. There is a decent amount of customization, along with plenty of unlocks. Overall, this is a game that is fun, has a lot of heart, and replay value. You can tell that the people that made this game cared about it. It’s a Free game, that doesn’t require you to make micro purchases so you can get farther. That’s optional. I’m only in the earlier parts of the game and as I go through more I may update this review. I just felt like giving a point of view of someone that is a die hard TF fan, someone that loves AB, and someone that had recently started the game. A Free game that has so much to it, is Definitely 5 Star material!
