The Othello

Would be nice to be able to hide the menu bar while playing. Would also nice to be able to start a new game with a single tap.

I’ve been playing Othello on this app for a few years and have played something like 10,000 games on it. This is a great version of Othello to build up some serious skill over time. I’ve beaten up to Level 22 both black and white without hints, undos, or handicaps. The AI is reasonably quick on iPhone SE and even faster on iPhone X. Great for a quick thinking game. Once the game is over, you can review your moves (just can’t undo them).

My only wish was that it kept track of results. But that seems even more minor, since now I wish I could get more than a black screen. I was starting a game, an ad appeared (which happens every other game, but I'm OK with that) and when I closed it, the screen went black, except for a small display ad at the bottom. I guess I'll give it a little while to correct itself, and if nothing happens, I'll delete the app. I enjoy the game, but what's the point of keeping it if all it does is show a black screen with an ad for dermatology cream?
