Reviews: What People Think About Concussion Coach
Overcoming & living with TBI
Rating: 4/5
Overall, I find this app to be helpful in many aspects, including information about various post-TBI issues with references and links to access individual support. I like how different symptoms are linked to the relevant built-in tool. There are several tools within the app to improve coping skills, set goals and build resilience. The periodic assessment tracker is ok but needs dates on the graph. The graphics don’t always line up correctly and a few options in the Wellness Journal spontaneously close down the app, losing the data being entered. A major issue is that none of the data can be exported from the Wellness Journal and periodic self-assessments. I’ve been tracking symptoms, especially headaches, for a few months and can’t share the data in an organized form with my TBI PCM. Otherwise, this is a solid app. Free. No ads.

Unlike the first reviewer, I have found this tool to be very helpful. The ability to find quick resources and “normalize” how I’m feeling is useful. I also like the assessment tool. A couple of suggestions that would make this app even better: The app does not seem to retain previous assessment data. When I enter a new assessment it always tells me that my last assessment was “never.” When charting the assessment results, it would be helpful if the dates were displayed. I find the wellness journal to be very helpful, but would like the ability to share this information with my healthcare provider. If there were a way to email or export a summary of this data, we could better track recovery.

I suffered a concussion 4 days ago. I'm still housebound by dizziness and pain. The app assessed my moderate symptoms and proceeded to suggest ways to manage symptoms. Feeling distressed suggestion: go to the beach written over a smiley face..umm I'm in Tennessee and get dizzy at random moments. Headache suggestion: go to the bookstore -also written over a smiley face. This is just another example of how the government spends recklessly and manages to under serve veterans at every turn. Designer: please learn basic info about concussions and the garbage you have written can be changed to actually help someone. It was worth the splitting headache to write this so no one else has to be immensely let down. Good luck and happy beach and book store browsing.
