I recently had my vocal cords removed and didnโt know what I was going to do. How was I ever going to communicate on the phone again? Would it ever be possible? I only had my cat to turn to, nobody to make calls for me, my life was over as I knew it until, with the help from Accessibility people, we found this FREE App! I can type phrases ahead of time, explain my situation and Iโm conducting business as usual, taking to friends and family. The only drawback is sometimes advertisements pop up during a conversation and you have to wait for it to stop playing, and sometimes the person on the other end hangs up because they think we got disconnected. Itโs embarrassing when on an important phone call, because then you have to call back but get a totally different person and have to explain all over again. But s Free service, you canโt complain. Iโll take and deal with the mishaps just to feel somewhat โnormal โ again. Thank you!
I had throat surgery and needed something free to communicate while I recovered. Didn't want anything fancy or complicated since it was only temporary. I chose this app because it was the first that came up. But I was immediately amazed at just how easy it was to use and how little impact it had on my ability to communicate while recovering. So much so that even though I don't need to, I'm going to pay to remove ads just to support the developers. My mom is a speech language pathologist and says working with this is akin to many of the professional aps she uses in her line of work. And as the texting generation gets older, things like this will be so much more accessible than the huge expensive tablets she uses right now. Amazing use of technology to make our lives easier. Thank you so much!
This as been one of the best text to speech apps I have ever used. I could copy and paste large swaths of an Ebook and listen throughout my work day. The voice options are broad but not anything special compared to other text to speech apps. The best feature was the ability to pause scroll and start anywhere in the text. Many texts donโt have this feature and it is very important if you ever need to take a break from your book or where distractioned but you donโt want to have to search for where you ended in the text and delete your finished reading and restart the text. The save function could be improved by creating small excerpts of the saved work as a title (like Speak4Me) as of now it is save as the whole text which makes it hard to find previous saved text. I would also suggest increasing the maximum play speed. Sadly since I got my new iPhone 14 I have had issues loading this app and wonโt be using it for the near future but this has to be the number one best text to speech app I have found to date.
