I love this app and the direction it's going. The team is also super responsive and helpful and I expect the app continues to improve. The only downside at the moment is the stability and some of the lag. Shot by shot is awesome but lags frequently and sometimes will have tons of shots logged due to lag which can disrupt flow on the course. Once stability is improved the app will be a 5 star! Awesome devs and looking forward to the future of the app!
Does it compete with UDisc? In some ways yes, in other ways no. Radius is more than just scorekeeping, it helps analyze your skills, tendencies and even caddying for you based on how well it knows your discs and how YOU throw them. I’m excited to learn more about the app over time, they are quick to make updates and care about each disc golfers experience. The app gives you feedback on your game, has a cool ranking system to show how “good” of a disc golfer you are and has a nice UI design. I’m sure this app will grow tremendously in popularity & functionality in a short time to help bring more info into the hands of people who love tossing frisbees.
While there is a lot of promise here, I don’t like the idea of being asked to subscribe for a service (to receive the full features) that I or other users have to do the work for the developers to complete the app. Specifically, building the courses ourselves. With everything nickel and diming users with monthly or yearly subscriptions these days, I’m not interested in paying $5 a month for a service I have to work for. Maybe if they had a lower fee for their first year of operations or something, until the app gets populated by the community, I’d consider hopping on board. But for now it’s a pass for me.
