Fell short of expectations

So … the tiny print has been covered by other posters, and I’ll just add that was someone’s assignment and they obviously failed when they shouldn’t have. We mobile players are getting reverse engineered PC games, and so there will be missteps and continuity issues, but that’s true of all games on all platforms. I’ve been playing MT games since Winterpoint and they are among my favorite. It’s not news that mobile games are different now and players have to establish their own benchmarks of what’s acceptable and what isn’t. The 20th in the MT series was pretty good. This one, not so much. The story was heartbreaking, and as with other MT games involved emotions as much as mystery. But the story was squandered because of the shortness of the game. It was rather perfunctory as well, nothing particularly new or interesting. Standard puzzles and hops. EG has some great titles but sometimes it feels like the studio is just fulfilling the contract with the least effort possible. That’s a sad state of affairs to say the least. This one hit somewhere in the middle between mediocre and passable. For a studio as storied and successful as EG has been in the past that’s nothing to be particularly proud of.

Just OK

Average game, lost a star for tiny text in HOPs

Mystery Trackers: The Shrouded Village by LynxMinx

The graphics are awful, the text and inventory tools are so tiny that you can barely make them out, and there is a horrible quality assurance issue that is so egregious that I will not change my rating until it is resolved! If you access the map and decide to check out your puzzle pieces or collectibles, there is NO WAY BACK into the game! You must totally close out and restart the game. Ridiculous! Fix it immediately or consider your revenues blocked. You are making a game that looks enjoyable just miserable to play by having to keep restarting the game. Update: the game itself had fast-paced and addictive gameplay, but since you didn’t fix the problem I am leaving my review at one star! There should have been a close button to return to the game. It is very apparent how cheaply you are making these games, with no zoom in the HO scenes, and the inability to read text or figure out what the inventory tools are at a glance(at least you labeled them). I have noticed from reading the reviews on other games that all of your text is so tiny that the gamers cannot read it. This is making it incredibly difficult for them to understand the storyline or plan their next move. No OTHER developer gives us such tiny text! This will be a major source of revenue loss. Give us back normal size text, a larger inventory bar, and zoom for the HO scenes. You do realize that your target demographic is women over the age of 55, and not everyone has great eyesight, but you have taken it way too far. We don’t need eye strain!
