I've tried a lot of note-taking apps, but YouMind hits different. It doesn't just slap an AI chatbox onto the interface; it actually rethinks how knowledge management should integrate with AI. The 'Board' design is clever. You can dump relevant materials into it, and the AI maintains a continuous dialogue based on that content without losing context. I mainly use it to organize podcasts and WeChat articles. On iOS, saving content via the Share Sheet is seamless. The 'Pick' (Highlight + Annotate) feature is great on the web; you just select text to note down your thoughts. It seems the mobile app is currently view-only for this, but I expect an update soon. The best part is that the AI uses these annotations to understand your train of thought, so the output actually sounds like you wrote it, rather than being a generic, cookie-cutter summary. Paired with Shortcuts, the workflow is incredibly efficient. For example, I set up a custom 'Podcast Deep Dive' shortcut—after saving an episode, it triggers the AI to automatically generate a structured draft. With support for top-tier models like Claude, GPT, Gemini, and DeepSeek, plus a smooth mobile experience, it basically saves me the cost of multiple Plus subscriptions.
I really want to love this product because it looks fantastic. The design is clean and modern. However, the user experience is frustratingly poor. Loading anything, from opening the editor to simply viewing entries, takes far too long. It was so slow that it made the app feel broken. To make matters worse, it completely froze on the first launch and I couldn't do anything at all.
YouMind is the reimagined AI assistant that can help anyone start creating. Capture ideas, gather materials, write drafts, and turn them into polished...
