Jibreel: Learn Islam App

I signed up for the free trial, didn’t find it suitable for my needs, and cancelled within the trial period. Later, I decided to give the app another chance and signed up for a second free trial again cancelling on time but this time I was charged for a full year. I’ve contacted support multiple times requesting a refund, but unfortunately there has been no proper resolution. As a tech entrepreneur, I completely understand how subscription models work. That said, charging a customer for an annual plan after a cancelled trial and then refusing to prorate or offer any flexibility is not aligned with modern, customer-first SaaS practices. In most platforms, if a user has paid for a year but doesn’t continue, at least a partial refund or prorated adjustment is offered. Regarding the product itself, the learning experience feels very rigid. You cannot skip lessons or move freely between topics you are forced to follow a fixed schedule. As a user, you have no real freedom to choose what you want to learn or focus on, which makes the experience frustrating and not personalized. At this point, I’ve accepted the charged amount as a form of “charity,” which is disappointing. The app has potential, but: • The billing and refund process needs serious improvement • The learning flow is too restrictive and not user-driven • The overall experience does not justify a yearly commitment I hope the team rethinks both their subscription handling and the product flexibility, because with the right improvements this could be a much better platform.

I downloaded this app as a new revert thinking it would be a great way to easily learn about Islam and about being a Muslim. It’s overwhelming being a revert and for someone who doesn’t speak or know any Arabic, it’s hard to learn easily. I love the “Duolingo” style of learning as it makes it easier to commit and simplifies the process. However, as stated I don’t know any Arabic and I’m starting from the beginning. While the lessons are short and interesting, there’s not much additional information available. I don’t know what these words and terms being taught mean and there’s no further information about them. I have to close the app and google what things mean. It would be nice to have everything in one place. I was hoping that subscribing to this would be a great way for me to learn more about Islam, learn prayers, how to be a proper Muslim, and even learn Arabic (or at least the most important words in arabic). Right now I’m feeling disappointed but I hope that there will be much more updates. There is a lot of potential to make this really great for new Muslims and even existing Muslims that want to grow closer.

I can’t believe it’s taken this long for someone to make something this essential. There’s so many things I grew up, thinking I know, but really I didn’t know the basic so having a reliable source like this to learn these basics is a lifesaver. I grew up Muslim and I actually don’t know the basics. So thank you for making an app that I can learn these things in it from a reliable source. As someone that doesn’t have access to a scholar, all I have is Google or ChatGPT so thank you for creating a safe resource.
