Understudy: For actors

This is the tool I never knew I needed. As a professional actor who has understudied 5 roles at once, needs to hear/run the lines with another voice, and has slight dyslexia which makes room for inverting words; this app has been a game changer. The ability to simply listen to a whole scene, the voice differences, the word accurate feedback. All top notch. So grateful to have finally found a tool that supports the way that I learn!!!

Honestly I can’t recommend this app enough! It’s simple, intuitive and beyond valuable to an actor looking to study lines. Snap a pic of your script choose a character and talk back and forth with a computer ai scene partner who waits while you speak you line. I had a small need and the dev responded same day with a simple and functional fix! Shout out to that on a Sunday! Well worth the small set up time to have a rehearsal buddy 24/7 who never gets bored or tired or frustrated. Wish I could give it more stars! Honestly, no notes

I cannot even describe how great it is to not have to call a reluctant friend or family member every time I need to run lines! I can now practice at any time I need, early morning or late into the night. I can listen to my cues on the subway so they get ingrained in my head. I can see how accurate my lines are with statistical feedback. It even gives you a little round of applause when you get all your lines right 🥹 If you are an actor, you NEED this app - seriously game changing.
