Hardware is okay, software is awful. If you just need to pull standard OBD2 codes you’re better off with a cheap wired scanner. This has more capabilities, but it takes a solid 5-10 minutes just for it to get connected and scan to get the codes, more if there is a new software update that it forces you to download prior to scanning. Not to mention it seemingly requires you to input a VIN number to proceed with scanning which is very frustrating when you just want to pull basic codes.

This software in conjunction with the OBD dongle are fairly capable but lack basic abilities like HVAC system recalibrations. Data loads fairly quickly and what you get for the size and price is pretty good. I use it as an automotive professional as my backup and it’s helped me out quite a few times. The layout will be familiar if you’ve used any other aftermarket tool from Asia. The biggest draw back is that when the app is updated through the App Store, the vast majority of manufacturer software packages already downloaded get deleted. I have to go back in and re-download all of the ones I use. I don’t want to hit Download All because there are a ton of brands that aren’t sold in the USA and I don’t want more useless data clogging my phone’s storage. If this problem were solved, I’d give the app 5 stars.
