EPA 608 Exam Prep & HVAC Test

First of all, I’m new to HVAC, specifically working in commercial refrigeration. The reason why the overall rating is so high on this app is because they give you an option to trade a 5-star rating for no in-app ads!!! It’s an okay-ish EPA study app, but way too expensive for the quality that is provided. It’s multiple-choice based, and there are often 3 obviously wrong answers and one right answer. And on top of that, there will be poorly written questions where the true correct answer is “incorrect” according to the app. I felt extremely unprepared for my EPA 608 using this app because of how simplified the questions are compared to the actual EPA test. Not enough questions that really make you sit and think, mostly just no-brainers. I would say 1 in 12 questions were a thinker. It constantly recycled the easy questions and barely traced over difficult topics. The explanations of the answers were almost zero help, just recycled the answer you clicked on: no “why” to the answer. I just started using SkillCat and I 100% recommend that app over this one!!! SkillCat actually helped me get my EPA certifications. It gives you the why, the how, and the what next. Everything builds upon itself, too. Plus, it’s considerably cheaper (about half the price of this one). I wish I could get the money that I spent on this study app back. I’ve worked on ac units with little to no knowledge of what I was doing or why. So I receded to get the knowledge and see how much I actually know. I’m surprised to find I know a lot more then a thought. And taking these test is fine tuning my skills and giving me the courage I need to take the certification test that I should of taken years ago.
