The ability to quickly jot down thoughts and assign characters to them. It’s so streamlined compared to anything else I’ve ever seen/just doing traditional journaling was all over the place for me. It provides the structure. Suggests how to think through. It makes a daunting process feel like you have a mentor with you every step of the way guiding you along. I love the identifying of patterns, etc. If you’re reading this Judy keep going, keep trying, you will keep failing, but celebrate that you’re trying. Maybe one day an app that organizes what you’ve been working on and helps you contextualize it will be a piece to the puzzle that helps you be a little more complete.
Hello, I typically do not write reviews as I am autistic and struggle getting to the point. I have been using this app for a little over 30 days. I am enjoying learning about what some of my major triggers are and it has helped me manage my emotions better. THE NUMBER ONE thing about this app that I am in love with that not only does it gives you a place to track triggers but also ‘GLIMMERS’ so the things that bring you extreme joy and peace can be tracked and recalled!!!! You can get notifications as often as you like so this allows you to build a routine in entering it. It is amazing that you can add photos if you want.
I'll start with the good stuff -- the journaling prompts, the trigger and glimmer tracker, the practices, the ability to notice patterns. It's a nice idea and I'm glad so many people are helped from what this app has to offer. It's a great start but folks should not use this as a replacement for therapy or other mental health supports like building the skills of self-compassion and communication. One major issue is the check in function is a copy from the How We Feel app down to the color schemes (red yellow blue and green). The differences are that you can't type in to search for an emotion and the options for emotions are strange and don't correspond to clear and relatable feelings. Who says they feel "cogitative" "phlegmatic" or "pallid"? Others are not emotions like "covert" or "musing". That is my least favorite part and needs to be re-done. We should be able to write in our own emotions like on the trigger tracking function. And the emotions should be simpler. It makes me question the credibility of the app to include such inane options for emotions.
