I see this app as a great tool with great potential. For getting to know players in your area better so you can find games t your level. Also for finding courts and games near you or when traveling to unknown areas. I Love that it gives the weather for the game as well. At the moment my biggest difficulty is just getting my fellow players to just put the app on their phone. But I know they will find it very useful once they give it a try. Then it will be faster to the fun for them to.
This app does so many things correctly, it’s almost scary how helpful it is. I’ve recently gotten into the game and have already used it several times to help find pickleball courts near me, determine when I can go to play on my own with friends, or attend a class or group session. I especially appreciate being able to see when the court might be booked - I find that I go to this app more than I go to individual groups’ websites, simply because everything is organized so well. For beginners, they also have a healthy amount of content related to gear tips and game tips that come in handy. On top of that they manage to pull off presenting everything with a UI that’s friendly without being hokey. As a UX designer, I’m impressed! Would highly recommend!
We had been using text messaging to schedule our games. It really got complicated when we had more than 25 players Pickleheads is just what we needed. It is mostly intuitive. As a test we ran a dual system using text messaging as the authoritative source of who would play but also used Pickleheads. In under two weeks we abandoned the text messaging and have been using Pickleheads exclusively for over a month now. Everyone seems to really like it.
