Astraware Crosswords

I’ve been working these for a few months now and it’s the only crossword app I use with any level of consistency. What sets Astraware apart is the options that they give you. If you like to play online, there are four new puzzles of varying sizes and difficulty every day, plus a larger puzzle every Friday that’s available for one week. Want to play offline? The downloadable puzzle packs are reasonably priced, and both online and offline play gives you the tools to crack the clues that stump you. Maybe asking for a letter in the word is all you need. Or (if online) you can use the solver feature to see words that could fit given what’s already on the board. The puzzles are the British quick crossword style, so they won’t take as long as American-style crosswords, but you’ll quickly discover that this app plays fair on all counts: Race the clock or solve at your leisure, use hints or not. You can’t ask for much more. Recommended!

While it is fun to play, don’t think that you could ever actually win. Every single time I lose, whether it be by less than a second or several seconds, the people that are listed that have better scores than me are names that I’ve never heard of before. I’ve been playing this game for months and eventually realized that the top scorers are fake names that are being put on the list, they’re not real players because you never see them listed before or since. It is deceitful but as long as you don’t pay any money and take it for what it is you can have fun challenging yourself, but please don’t be upset if you never get high enough on the leaderboard!

For months I have been working the puzzles with varying degrees of success. The puzzles have consistently been challenging. Unlike some other puzzle sites, the clues are well-written and seldom repeated. I do appreciate the immediate feedback on my performance. I also like the expanded numbers of puzzles to work. Thank you for offering hours of entertainment.
