Silver Top Taxi

I called a cab using the app and immediately was assigned a driver. But after waiting 5 minutes I could see he hadn’t moved on the map so I called him through the app. Took him (“Ahmed”) ages to pick up and when he did I could hear from the other voices that we was in a house, not on his way to me. I asked him about it and he said “it’s only been 5 minutes and you’re already complaining? Get another driver”. Can’t believe the level of rudeness and lack of any care that I was in a rush and was paying him for a service. Worst part: there’s not even any way to give feedback in the app about either the driver or the experience. I wish I could continue to support independent taxis but I’ll never use Silvertop again.

I have been resilient in trying to support taxis. I have been a customer of silver top for well over 30 years. But it has come to an end. I try and try again and just put up with the bad service. The app cant find a taxi or the most prominent issue is the driver accepts the booking and either drives in the opposite direction or doesn’t move for 15 minutes. It’s happened the last 3 times. Then ST has the cheek to threaten me for cancelling too many times! At least uber asks me why I am cancelling to reprimand the driver. No, with ST its always the customer at fault. After 30 years, I regrettably have to go to uber and cant support local. You did this to me! Just like everyone else moving on. Goodbye forever.

I booked at taxi hours in advance through this app, and it never showed up. The app simply gave me the message ‘we were unable to find a taxi in your area’ HOURS after I’d booked it. Surely a taxi could have been arranged? Or at least a text message or notification saying a taxi wouldn’t be available at least an hour before this rude and abrupt message? If they’d at least done me that courtesy, it would have saved me a lot of stress finding an alternative option. Obviously not, as Silver Top clearly doesn’t care about its customers. Absolutely appalling, I will never use this service again and I will strongly recommend that no one else uses it.
