English Pronunciation - Otterwave

This app is exactly what I have been looking for - but it doesn't exactly work. I love how it lets you analyze each word that has been spoken, and compare it with the correct pronunciation, however, sometimes the beginning and/or end sounds get cut off, which can be confusing. The ability to manually adjust the slider could resolve this. Most of the preloaded sentences are geared toward adults, but the ability to add your own custom sentences is excellent. The problem then, is the limited number of custom sentences allowed, the inability to delete sentences you no longer want, and the inability to edit a sentence if there was a typo. There is also no way to add commas to sentences. I am also confused about how to use the custom sentences, since it appears to overwrite the original recording. There is an extremely limited help menu and the developer website appears to have been closed. I can see a lot of potential in this app and I am really disappointed that it does not work as expected. I would be willing to pay for a version of this app that had just a few minor updates, and then give it 5 stars.

I really like this app. I'm a teacher, and I can see lots of positive things students can do with it. I LOVE the fact that I can create a lesson, but then I think this is completely useless since I can't share it with my students. What am I supposed to do? Pass my iPad around so everybody has a chance to practice? I think this is the one biggest drawback. Instead of twitting something as empty as "I'm using English pronunciation", we should be able to share links so people can access our lessons. My two cents on this app. Like it very much for self-study, anyways.

Best app out there for nonnative speakers. It lets you know what word needs more practice. It tells you the sentence, let's you recorded it and than gives you your score...but you have the option to analyze every single word you said. Perfect! Just what I need it! Thank you.
