The Republican

I hate the new format. The size of the articles are way too small for older eyes. It was much easier before you got new software. When the paper was brought up on screen you could hit the arrow on the top right corner and all pages were enlarged. Change is not always the best.

The new version makes it much easier to read everything I have access to with my subscription. I love that I can now zoom in without the text getting blurry.

I enjoy being aware of events and issues going on not only in my own city but in the surrounding areas. The Republican gathers stories of local and national interest, provides updates on ongoing budget negotiations, political issues and health concerns, particularly as our whole country deals with the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition there are many ‘lighter’ stories including nature, cooking, culture, opinion pieces, and of course, the comics page. This final piece is invaluable in reminding me that there is still good in the world. The photos are compelling, entertaining, and/or illustrative. It’s definitely worth it to have all of these things gathered in one convenient place!
