Kicker U

I’ve been buying kicker since the 1st round solo baric came out and I’ve competed with them. In the past 5 years I’ve purchased 5 kicker subs and 2 amps. So far I’ve been pretty disappointed in all of these purchases. So I decided to try one more time. (I’m pretty brand loyal like that). I ordered a 12” L7R from crutchfield. Awaiting its arrival. And I downloaded this app to design the box for it. The disappointment continues. This app was a complete waste. I agree with the previous reviews regarding the ports and vents. Where are they? And the colors are also a pretty bad choice. Please get it together kicker. There’s a lot of new stuff out there in the car audio market and Stillwater designs seem to be falling behind.

I wanted and tried to like this app. I planned to use it to build boxes for my kicker speakers, but ultimately it’s just not that good. It functioned like each page is a new app which makes one project feel like multiples that have no relation to each other. It would really be nice if the 3D renderings displayed the ports when the ported option is selected. The airspace calculator is very hard to understand, and it just seems faster and easier to just work it all out by hand. If you do this kind of stuff as anything more than a hobby then more of this app might make more sense to you, but you’ve probably already got better programs to use. Keep giving Kicker your money for their speakers, amps and electronic equipment, because they really do make some good stuff. Stop giving Kicker your money for this app. There are better cheaper (free) box building apps and sites out there to use.

Installed this app while looking for another. Has been installed 20 minutes. These are my thoughts 1: no “back” or “cancel” button after making any selection from the home screen 2: frequency generator works fine for single tones. Sine wave does not alternate. 3: saved boxes crashes the app 4: have to exit the app and close it to return to the home screen. This app will stay installed for a decent tone generator and possibly a reminder for wiring drivers. Would not recommend. Will probably stick to the tone files I made myself.
