I used HT to book a room at the St Francis Hotel, Santa Fe. I have used this before with no issues… that’s the key…. No issues. If you do have one, forget help. I realize this booking site is used to sell empty or less desirable rooms… but this experience takes the cake. Our room was small, but comfy, until I realized there was no closet, no hooks… nowhere to put my clothes. It was our anniversary so I brought hanging clothes. I had to hang them on doorknobs and open cabinet doors to hang long items… our room looked like I had laundry drying all over. Not the ambiance I was hoping for. I brought a white felt hat and and to put it on top of the cabinet… the front came down dirty b/c the top of the cabinet must have been dusty. The message light was on and blinking red, but no message… we asked the hotel to please turn it off… “ yes, right away.” When we came back from dinner, it as still blinking, so I covered it with a towel. There is a small fridge in the cupboard, and it hummed and gurgled on and off all night… I couldn’t close the door because I was using the door for my “closet.” The remedies I was offered, included a “maybe” partial refund, or they could change my room when one became available today, which is ridiculous and even more inconvenient. I’m a seasoned traveler and have traveled all over the world.. in Europe some rooms didn’t have a closet per se, but they offered a cupboard or hooks. That always worked out. This was a very unsatisfactory experience and outcome. We left.
It’s good. Easiest way to book a hotel room and I’ve never had any issues created by them. They’re super helpful and great prices. You can book same day o month/weeks in advance as well for multiple days/multiple rooms/ and even multiple hotels for other people all from your phone. Save fitttty buckeroos by using this secret squirrel info: ESMITH270 I dunno what else to say. It’s just really sleek and user friendly. Sooo much easier l, quicker and better than any other. A little hint/hotel hack for you. Book the cheapest room and then at check in ask if there’s any upgrades you could possibly pay for (people like to know your willing to pay and will be more apt to help you seeing as you actually appear to have money) but often times they’ll hook you up for free. What happens is often they will have various upgrades at different amounts of money however it will be wayyyy less than it would have been to book the room outright. Like often for only $10 more I’ll get a much better room and for around $20’ish a much much much nicer room. I paid an extra $220 a night one time and I think I got half an entire floor of a luxury hotel. Giant room, oh woops I meant rooms. One giant bedroom a walk in closet the size of a travel lodge room, huge living room with wrap around couch TV, wet bar, a telescope, a guest bathroom, huge master bathroom, annoying friends that I wished Would have left and much more. Pays to ask and to have the hotel know end line you too. The room was really cool.
Well, let’s just say it was terrible - booked a room at 1pm and drove from Chicago to Indiana with a friend (should I mention she’s disabled) for a concert. We drive straight to the show and upon leaving, I logged into my APP that said “Hey Night Owl, Check Out is at 12pm.” You would think if they GAVE AWAY MY ROOM this message wouldn’t appear on my app. Well, supposedly they “emailed me.” Isn’t this APP for travelers that may not be waiting in a WiFi Spot for an email? Well, the hotel Marriott Gardens couldn’t have been more Ryder. They wouldn’t even look up the reservation or my last name. After spending hours on the phone between Hotels Tonight & the Corp Hotel - a 40 year old (me) and my disabled friend (47) spent an hour trying to sleep as the sun came up and drove 3.5 hrs to Chicago. Hotels Tonight was going to give me a $50 credit and then after I complained - they gave me $75. Ha! Days later I’m still waiting for my $225 REUND Hotels Tonight charged me for while the hotel gave away my room. Let’s just say I wouldn’t be using the credit for anything less than a $225 CREDIT. What a nightmare. Worst app ever! Used this app in NYC and it was a pain hopping from hotel to hotel anyway. I would recommend you save your time, money & precious sleep on NOT RELYING ON THIS “App.” What a joke! This company won’t last long. Try Trip Advisor or a more reputable company.
