Iโm late to the iPad-for-sheet music party, but I got Piascore instead of ForScore since it was freer. I love it so far. There might be some features that Iโm missing out on, but as far as I can tell this has everything I need. To be constructive, Iโve had some issues accessing specific pages when I add a larger file to a setlist. Ie, Iโm playing the trombone part out of a file that contains all 5 parts plus the score to a quintet tune. So one, maybe 2 pages out of 15 or 20, which as far as I can tell all have to into the setlist. Iโm sure thereโs a way I could manually crop the file in a third-party app, but Iโd love if I could do that right here, especially if it means less outside work on my part. To be sure, the direct integration to Google Drive is remarkably helpful, but half the time Iโm copying files from an email or shared drive. Iโd rather not go fidgeting with those. Seriously great UI though, highly recommend this app for anyone just getting into digitization.
I waited to take my scores digitally for a long time, Iโm glad I stopped waiting, and got this app! I paid the extra money for extra features and itโs well worth it. I am a high school orchestra director, as well as piano accompanist for many soloist each yeah, and this year my sheet music management went to the next level. Importing the music is simple, sometimes itโs better to leave the images in color because it can look quite distorted converting to black and white unless itโs a pdf file. Turning pages with a wink, without having to lift my hands from the keyboard is amazing, but does take some getting used to after many years of muscle memory turning pages. I highly recommend this app to amateur and professional musicians alike, this was my first year as a conductor and I scanned all my scores into my iPad and used it for rehearsals and performances. Notes and score alterations without damaging original copies. Really a cool app and lots of functionality.
I love this app and use it often for all of my different music, whether piano solos or orchestral trombone parts or small or large ensemble scores, and it keeps me from having to carry around large amounts of paper books with me wherever I go. I am able to keep an entire library of music with my at all times, and be able to whip it out on a whim, or perform hassle free. The only suggestion I would make would be to make the portion of the screen that you tap on to change the page larger. I will often be playing a very technical piece with no breaks for page turns, and so my hand will shoot up to the screen as fast as I can make it move but I will miss the button a lot of times because it is too small, and the page wonโt turn which causes even more of a slowdown than if they were paper pages. If I could reach up and hit anywhere on the right half of the screen (or even right third) my page turns would go much smoother and I wouldnโt risk having to stop the song to try turning the page again. Overall though this app is incredible and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who will need to have music on them for any reason.
