I have been using Sound note since 2015 and find it a great solution. The only problem that has come up is that it is difficult to back up all of ones notes, I have requested a solution. That said it is still better than anything else I can find.

I have used this app for years in large classroom settings. The recording come out great.

This is a really good app. It's clean, uncluttered and straightforward. I'm a tech coordinator at a private school in San Diego. I highly recommend it. It's ideal for lecture based classes and is especially useful in language and history classes. It's awesome for visual learners too. They can sketch/doodle concepts and then click on the image to hear what that image related back to. If you're a slow writer it is extremely useful too. You don't have to write down every piece of information; rather, you can jot down the big picture topics and then listen to it when you need to. It also allows students to then go back and quickly make real, well written hard copy notes based off of these notes (if they learn best that way). It really is an excellent tool. If you are a student, get this app. If you are a parent, get this app for your son or daughter. It's brain-dead to use and can make an immediate impact. Some say it lags and other say they want formatting...It's for quick note taking, not formal, polished documents. Recording an hour of audio takes up space. If you run low on memory, things lag. I wouldn't suggest keeping all your formal notes in this tool. It's for capturing a lecture or meeting so that you can then go do something like create more formal notes when you have the time. Once you've done that or studied for the quiz/test delete the note. When I was in college, I had a paper notebook I used for quickly scribbling down lectures. I then copied them into another notebook that had excellent handwriting, references, sketches, etc. This app would replace my first notebook.
