No longer can you use “I was out of town” as an excuse to miss Mass! I use this app all the time when I’m out traveling, and I think it’s a must for any Catholic. It makes it easy to find churches near you and get mass times, driving directions, etc. It also includes phone numbers and links to the church’s website in most cases so you can verify if the information in the app is correct, and you can easily submit updates if you find any info to be incorrect or outdated (although I haven’t had to use this feature yet as most of the mass times I’ve found have been pretty accurate). I’m not saying the app is perfect, but I find it to be far better than any other mass times app on the App Store. You can also view Mass readings, Saint of the day and more.

I used to use this app regularly with ease, but lately I’m finding a lot of incorrect information... Today, I took the time to submit a number of corrections to the listing for the parish I went to to attend Mass, only to find the time listed was incorrect. After entering all of the information, it said the changes were submitted, but I didn’t see the information update. The listing said the info was last updated in Feb 2015. So beware, and call parishes ahead to check their Mass schedule. I’m going to try another app that is supposed to provide this info, and I hope it has correct, up-to-date listings. And that corrections, if needed, “take”

Notice how all the reviews prior to 2016 are very high, but so far reviews posted in 2016, including mine are poor. Developers made major UI changes in last upgrade that dramatically reduced the usability of the app. Not only are the readings and Saints of the day just run together in one long list, but you can no longer advance forward one day to see the reading and Saint for tomorrow. I attend Saturday evening vigil Mass most of the time, as many Catholics do, and I am also a frequent lector. Before, you could bring up the Sunday reading on Saturday; now after the app change, you can’t. I’ve sent feedback several times asking them to restore the ability to see tomorrow’s reading (the day after the current day), no response. Now, it does have a ‘read more’ link,which takes you to the US Conference of Catholic Bishops site, and there you can view readings for different days…but the problem is the USCCB site does not display well at all on an iPhone or iPad, the text does not format to the display size so you must thumb back and forth to read anything. Very disappointed, wish I had kept copy of the old version and never upgraded.
